BAGEL CLERK (Full-time)

To support all areas of operation in bagel making as per the direction of the Bakery Manager and/or the Assistant Bakery Manager.

  • Bakery Diploma required.
  • To prepare and bake quality bagel products as per Fortinos procedures and standards.
  • To assist in the ordering of department supplies and control the inventory level of product.
  • To assist in the merchandising of bagels, as well as sampling.
  • To assist in the training of new part-time staff.
  • To assist customers with any questions and maintain good customer relations.
  • To ensure the sanitation and safety of the department meets with company standards.
  • To perform other duties, as required.

BEAN ROAST CLERK

Under the general supervision of the Franchisee and direct supervision of the Bean Roast Manager, the Bean Roast clerk is responsible for the full preparation of the department; as well as assisting in all aspects of customer service.

  • Grade 12 Diploma (or basic reading, writing and math skills). OR One (1) to two (2) years experience in a coffee shop environment. To provide friendly, courteous and efficient customer service,
  • To possess excellent product knowledge in order to accurately describe to customers the ingredients, preparation and taste of all items sold in the Bean Roast Department,
  • To actively approach customers in a friendly manner to assist with needs.
  • To recommend and sell Bean Roast products and services to customers.
  • To prepare and package foods in strict accordance with the Fortinos Health Code
  • To display merchandise in the Bean Roast display counter in an attractive manner,
  • To price product in accordance with price guidelines,
  • To register, parcel and process payment for Bean Roast products sold within the department in an efficient manner,
  • To use machinery in a safe and efficient manner,
  • To clean and provide general maintenance of all machinery as per Company standards,
  • To keep track of inventory levels and ensure oroper product rotation,
  • To receive and put away stock,
  • To ensure supplies are replenished and maintained
  • To ensure the sanitation and safety of the department meet with company standards,
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

CASHIER

To ensure all customers receive courteous and effective service in adherence with Company procedures.

  • Minimum Grade 10 education (or basic reading, writing and math skills). On-the-job training is required. OR Six (6) to eight (8) months on cash in a retail environment.
  • To provide customers with service in a friendly and helpful manner. To register, parcel and process payment for all store merchandise according to Company procedures. To be responsible for the product knowledge of store merchandise to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of customer service.
  • To maintain a clean and tidy checkout stand and assist in the general maintenance of the front-end.
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

FLORAL CLERK

To assist the Floral Manager with merchandising, preparation, and conditioning of product as well as the general maintenance of the department.

    Basic reading, writing and math skills. On-the-job training required. OR Related Floral experience is an asset. To register, parcel and process payment for merchandise according to Company procedures.

  • To provide customer service and assist in resolving customer complaints.
  • To fill, maintain and merchandise product by creating attractive and exciting displays with a co-ordinating theme.
  • To water, clean and condition fresh product as per Company standards.
  • To assist Floral staff in receiving of product and preparing customer orders.
  • To perform administrative duties including answering of phones and taking of customer orders.
  • To clean and maintain the department according to company sanitation standards and safety procedures.
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

GROCERY CLERK (Day Shift)

Under the general supervision of the Store Manager and direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the grocery clerk is responsible for the stocking of shelves, merchandising of product; and assisting in all aspects of customer service.

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma (basic reading, writing and math skills). OR Six months to one (1) year experience in the retail grocery industry.
  • To stock shelves according to planograms which includes the rotation and possible pricing of product.
  • To build grocery displays under the direction of the department or store manager.
  • To face and flatten merchandise, reorganize displaced items and product labels to ensure neat and attractive aisles.
  • To provide customer service as required.
  • To assist in maintaining a clean and organized selling floor and backroom.
  • To assist, on occasion, in the handling of direct store deliveries.
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

NATURAL FOODS CLERK (Full-Time)

Under the general supervision of the Franchisee and direct supervision of the Natural Foods Manager, the Natural Foods clerk is responsible for the stocking of shelves, the preparation and merchandising of product; and assisting in all aspects of customer service.

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma (basic reading, writing and math skills). OR 2 years experience in the retail Natural Foods industry. Basic knowledge of organic produce, meat and bakery products is required.
  • To respond immediately to any customer inquiries, requests and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times.
  • To prepare and package merchandise for displays, with focus on organic bakery products, meat and produce items.
  • To actively approach customers in a friendly manner to promote Natural products.
  • To fill and maintain displays of Natural Foods and organic products, ensuring merchandise meets Company standards.
  • To recommend and sell Natural Foods and related products and services to customers.
  • To help direct department staff as required.
  • To assist in maintaining a clean and organized selling floor and backroom.
  • To assist, on occasion, in the handling of direct store deliveries.
  • To ensure that the safety and sanitation of the department meets with Company standards.
  • To perform other duties as assigned.
